  • included on a tape with rough album mixes played to journalist Chris Salewicz by Paul Simonon in early July 1978[1]
  • in an interview on Clash On Broadway: The Interviews Joe Strummer explains how he and Mick Jones wrote this song whilst staying in a hotel in Kingston Jamaica. They were watching a James Bond film on television and Mick Jones noted of Roger Moore's acting ability: "this guy's only got one emotion!"
  • Joe Strummer: "The phrase One Emotion came when we were watching Roger Moore. I think it might have been re-runs of 'The Saint', it struck us how one-dimensional he was."[2]
  • Mick Jones: "I think it was Roger Moore in a really bad 'James Bond' film. One Emotion was done at Basing Street Studios."[3]
